Christmas Party in Geelong: Waterfront Venue and Indian Catering for 2026

Every year someone in the office gets handed the Christmas party, usually with a budget, a deadline and thirty different dietary needs. If that's you, here are two easy ways to run a Christmas party in Geelong that people actually talk about: a group dinner on the waterfront at Eastern Spice, or a hot Indian buffet catered at your office or venue.

Why Indian food works for a Christmas party

  • It suits every diet. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests get real dishes, not a side salad. Many curries are naturally gluten-free, and every chicken, lamb and beef dish uses meat from a halal-certified supplier.

  • It's made for sharing. A table of shared curries, naan and tandoori gets people talking in a way that plated meals don't.

  • It holds well. Curries stay hot and delicious through a long buffet, which is exactly what a party needs.

  • It's good value. Our buffet packages start at $29 a person including naan, rice, raita and salad.

Option 1: Christmas party dinner on the waterfront

Bring the team to us. Eastern Spice is at 1 Bellerine Street on Eastern Beach, with window tables looking across Corio Bay, and summer evenings on the waterfront are the best of the year.

The simplest way to order for a group is the Chef's Table Banquet at $69 a person (four or more): samosa, chicken tikka, papadum, butter chicken, daal, palak paneer, rice, naan and gulab jamun, with a vegetarian and vegan option. Nobody has to choose, nobody has to split the bill by dish, and everyone eats well.

We're BYO wine at $5 a person, which keeps the drinks budget under control. We're open Monday and Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm to 9:30pm, and closed on Tuesdays.

Option 2: Christmas party catering at your office or venue

If you'd rather stay put, our Christmas party catering brings a hot Indian buffet to your office, warehouse, hall or backyard across Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast. Every package includes naan, rice, raita and salad:

  • Silver: 2 starters, 2 mains, from 25 guests, $29 a person

  • Gold: 3 starters, 3 mains, from 25 guests, $34 a person

  • Diamond: 4 starters, 3 mains, from 35 guests, $37 a person

  • Premium: 4 starters, 4 mains, from 35 guests, $40 a person

  • Platinum: 5 starters, 4 mains and a dessert, from 35 guests, $45 a person

Popular party picks include butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, paneer tikka masala, dal makhni, tandoori chicken tikka, lamb seekh kebab and chilli chicken.

Turn the buffet into the entertainment

A live station cooked in front of your guests gives the party a centrepiece. Choose a chaat counter, pav bhaji, or noodles and Manchurian ($350 + $4.99 a person), a lassi counter ($350 + $3.50 a person), or live naan on request. Each runs for 3.5 hours including setup.

Setup, staff and the practical bits

Choose pickup, delivery or full service. A basic buffet setup is $150, or $299 with service staff (one per 25 guests). Disposables are $3 a person, or upgrade to silver cutlery and ceramic plates for $6 a person. A drinks pack of Coke, Fanta and water is $3 a person.

Smaller team? Bulk trays

For an office lunch or a team of ten, our bulk trays (2kg, 4kg and 5kg) of butter chicken, biryani, dal makhni, paneer and tandoori starters are an easy, low-fuss Christmas spread.

Book your Christmas party early

November and December Friday nights go first, both for tables and catering dates. Catering needs a 50% deposit to confirm, with the final menu a week before.

From all of us at Eastern Spice: Merry Christmas, and here's to a team party worth remembering.
